Walter 'Wally' Dawson's Obituary
Walter ‘Wally’ Dawson, age 54, of North Ridgeville, passed away suddenly on December 18, 2020.
Beloved husband for 32 years of Nanette Dawson (nee Wasilko). Loving father of Jonathon (Kate); Katie (Marcus Hunt); Matthew (Jen Sockol). Loving Papa to Braelynn Irene, Chase Michael, Avery Lee, and Sawyer Marie. Brother of Brian (Jen). Brother-in-law of Johnny (Debbie), Mike (Marian), uncle, cousin, and friends to many. He held a special place in his heart for Dianne Rhodes (Ms. Beck).
Wally was a proud veteran of the United States Army who served in the 1st and 18th field artillery in Augsburg, Germany. He was then stationed in Fort Rucker, Alabama in the 260th field artillery detachment air assault unit. Wally was a retired correction officer at the Lorain Correctional Institution.
Wally was a diehard Cleveland Browns fan and never missed a family football Sunday. He was a fun, loving, and a one-of-a-kind family man who loved his family more than anything.
We will miss his contagious laugh and great big bear hugs. There wasn’t a person who met Wally that didn’t love him.
