Wayne H. Livingston's Obituary
Wayne H. Livingston, 81, of Madison, Ohio passed away on November 18, 2021. He was born on February 7, 1940 in Nemacolin, Pennsylvania to the late Clyde H. and Ruth K. (nee Painter) Livingston. Wayne was a proud veteran of the United States Marines Corps. He retired as a police officer for the City of Brooklyn in 1989 after 25 years of service. After retirement he enjoyed a second career as a school bus driver for the Bay Village and Copley school districts. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and held the distinguished title of 32nd Degree Mason belonging to Lodge 736. Wayne enriched his life with many hobbies including: photography, word puzzles, bee keeping, gardening and canning. Later in life he discovered he had a talent for crafting stain glass art which he happily gifted to friends and family. Making maple syrup was the hobby Wayne was most passionate about. Not only did he enjoy the sweet product, he also cherished the camaraderie shared with friends and family through the countless hours needed to tap, collect and boil the sap into perfection. Wayne shared a spiritual bond with with his wife Shirley that inspired them to serve others together. They have been active members of Trinity Lutheran Church in Madison Ohio. They enjoyed volunteering at the Madison Food Bank and the Kennedy Stone house at Salt Fork State Park. Wayne will be fondly remembered for his wicked sense of humor and will be missed by those who loved him best. He loved his family and lived for creating the best life for his loved ones. Wayne will be deeply missed by his loving wife Shirley (nee Elwell) Livingston of 58 years; cherished daughter Shari (Scott) Rooney; treasured granddaughter Kelli A. Rooney as well as the many nieces and nephews who called him their “Favorite Uncle”😉. He is preceded in death by his siblings William Morris, Harry Morris, Gilbert Morris, Wanda Jean Fox, Beverly Deck, Clyde A. Livingston, Ruth Marlene Scott, and Charles Livingston. Family and friends may call on Saturday, December 4, 2021 from 12:00 Noon-4:00 PM at Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070. A memorial service will take place at 4:00 PM at the chapel. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the American Cancer Society.
