Wilda Darlene Surgenor (nee Sturgeon)'s Obituary
Wilda Darlene Surgenor, 93, of Fairview Park went Home to be with our Lord and precious Savior on Wednesday, October 23, 2024. Wilda was the faithful wife of the late Robert E. Surgenor for 74 years! Wilda was preceded in death by her husband and two sons Robert Rainey Surgenor, Sr. and David Roy Surgenor. She was also preceded in death by her sisters Betty Jean Cole and Geraldine May Taylor. Wilda is survived by her sisters Wanda Lou Kilbel and Cora Ann Telari.
In addition to Wilda’s role as a wife and mother, she was a grandmother, great-grandmother, and referred to as “Aunt Wilda” by many. Wilda dedicated her adult life by staying home to take care of her husband and two sons. Wilda was instrumental in planting the seed of salvation into Robert’s soul and that seed was watered by Christ in 1952. Wilda abided by the blueprint of scripture and truly placed Christ first in her life. She lived her life as an example to her two sons and was also instrumental in teaching them both about God’s saving grace. Her living example of God’s love would eventually lead both of them to Christ. Wilda provided a warm light in this world consumed with darkness, and will truly be missed by many. She is absent from the body, and is present with the Lord (2 Corinthians 5:8). Wilda is currently residing in eternal paradise along with her Savior, loving husband and two sons.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday October 30,2024 from 10am-12pm at Sunset Chapel , 6245 Columbia Rd, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070, with a service to immediately follow in the chapel at 12pm.
