William Ralph Batteiger's Obituary
William Ralph Batteiger, age 84, of North Olmsted, Ohio, passed away on April 14, 2025. He was born on January 20, 1941, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Allen and Loyola Batteiger.
William is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara Batteiger, with whom he shared 64 wonderful years of marriage since August 20, 1960. He was a devoted father to his children: Bob (Diana) Batteiger, Bonnie Heidelman-Towner, and Cindy Batteiger-Gilmore. He was a cherished grandfather to Nicole, Amber, Michael, Matt, Mandy, Melissa, Marc, D.J., Kevin, and Kailey, and a proud great-grandfather to Livie, Delilah, Carter, Madelyn, Emma, Weston, Rhett, Tripp, Jaxson, and Mason. He is also survived by his sister, Karen, and was preceded in death by his brother, Terry.
William enjoyed spending time with his family, and his hobbies included motorcycles, fishing, golfing, playing poker, playing pool, and bowling. He was an active member of the North Olmsted Historical Society and a talented woodworker, creating many beautiful items for his loved ones. Known for his great sense of humor, practical jokes, and sarcastic wit, William was funny, loving, sincere, faithful, and always helpful.
Throughout his career, William worked as a Foreman at Everhard, GM, and Terex, where he was respected for his dedication and hard work.
William's legacy of love, laughter, and craftsmanship will be remembered by all who knew him. His family and friends will miss him dearly.
Memorial visitation will be held at Sunset Memorial Chapel, 6245 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070 on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a funeral service starting at 6:00 p.m.
