William M Bruton's Obituary
William M. Bruton, 89, of Strongsville, Ohio, peacefully passed away surrounded by his children on September 19, 2023. He was born in Detroit, Michigan to the late Martin and Helen O. Bruton.
Bill, as he was affectionately known, enjoyed calling Bingo games with his friends at Olympia in Strongsville. He also enjoyed walking on the path around his neighborhood and talking to people he saw.
He retired from NASA in 1992 where he worked in Aerospace Technology. He was also a long-time parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Strongsville.
Bill is preceded in death by his loving wife, Helen C. Bruton (nee Berfanger), and sister, Helen J. Bruton.
Bill is survived by his children; William (Rosemary) Bruton, Debra Bruton, and Jean (John) Lieb; cherished grandfather of Amanda Bruton, Jessica (Josh) Clark, Melissa (Mitch) Hagg, Katherine (fiancé, Leighton Proctor), William, and Elizabeth Haas, Christopher (Anthea), Nathaniel (Shelby), and Hannah Lieb. Bill was also a great-grandfather of 15 great-grandchildren.
Bill also leaves to cherish his memory his brother Robert (Diane) Bruton, sisters Mary Lou (Skip) Noble, and Kathleen Bruton.
Visitation Sunday, September 24, 2023 from 12PM – 3PM in the Chapel at Sunset Memorial Park, 6245 Columbia Rd., North Olmsted. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, September 25, 2023, at 10:00AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 12700 Pearl Rd., Strongsville, Ohio 44136. Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Catholic Charities of the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland.
