William S. Helaney Jr.'s Obituary
William S. Helaney Jr., 84, of Fairview Park, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 24, 2020.
He was born on September 16th in Omaha, Nebraska; son of the late William S. Sr. and Tillie (nee Michael) Helaney. William worked in the film and theater industry from New York to Chicago before settling in Cleveland. He loved to travel to California, and especially enjoyed Monterey Bay and Napa Valley. He also loved skiing, golfing, and playing cards with the family. Most treasured moments included the annual Christmas Eve celebration with his family in Canton, OH where he was raised.
Devoted husband of Sheryl (nee Prishmont) Helaney; loving father of Christopher Helaney, Melissa (Alex) Przytulski, Megan Helaney-Tedrick, and his comfort and joy Figaro the cat; beloved grandfather of Ethan and Noah Przytulski; loving brother of Joseph (Becky) Helaney and Sharon Nonno.
William is preceded in death by his parents, and his siblings, Raymond, Wallace, Carrie, and Alice.
Graveside service will take place Friday, October 30, 2020, at Noon, Sunset Memorial Park. Please meet at the Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Rd., North Olmsted, OH 44070 by 11:45 AM to prepare for procession. Reception will immediately follow service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in William’s name are suggested to Alzheimer’s Association or your local animal shelter.
