William Herschel Jordan's Obituary
William “Bill” Herschel Jordan III, age 81, of North Olmsted, Ohio, passed away peacefully on January 13, https://2026.Born on August 3, 1944, in Fairmont, Nebraska, Bill was the beloved son of the late Valeria and William Jordan II.
He was also preceded in death by the love of his life, Ellen Andrews. Bill and Ellen shared more than 50 wonderful years together, a partnership marked by deep devotion, laughter, and countless adventures.
Bill is survived by his cherished loved ones, Cathy and Jim Pacsuta, their children, Jimmy and Emma, and Tom and Carol List, who remained close to him throughout his life.
A 1962 graduate of North Olmsted High School, Bill continued his education at Baldwin Wallace, the University of Findlay, and ultimately earned his Master’s degree from St. John’s College. He was a longtime and proud member of the North Olmsted Sportsman Club, where he formed lasting friendships and enjoyed the camaraderie of fellow outdoor enthusiasts.
Bill had a gentle heart and a special affection for animals—especially his cats, who brought him great comfort and joy. His passions were as varied as they were vibrant: sailing on open water, motorcycle racing, shooting, skiing, music, and escaping to warmer climates whenever he could. Visitation will be held at Sunset Memorial Chapel, 6245 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070 on Thursday, January 22, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. with funeral service at 4:00 p.m.
Bill will be cremated and laid to rest privately at a later date at Sunset Memorial Park, North Olmsted, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bill’s honor to the Cleveland APL.
