William B. Kettler's Obituary
William B. Kettler, known affectionately as “Bill,” age 80, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2024. Born on August 8, 1943, in Wheeling, West Virginia, Bill was a man of great passion and enthusiasm, particularly for automobiles.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents, William H. and Mary V. Kettler, his late wives, Mary and Gail, and his daughter, Amanda Jane. His legacy continues through his devoted wife, Elba, his loving children, Michele (Brad) Buening, Lori (Mike) McGrath, Jason (Molly) Michaelides, Dana Zella, and Joshua (Lea) Michaelides. He was a cherished grandfather to Bradley, Amanda, Brian, Zachary, Kaden, Lars, Alexandria, Zachary, Cameron, Andrew, and Nicholas, and a proud great-grandfather to many. He is also survived by his sister, Nancy (Jay) Norenberg.
An avid car enthusiast, Bill was a proud member of the Thunderbirds Club, sharing his love for classic cars with fellow enthusiasts. His leadership skills shone as the former president of the Homeowners Association in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, where he made lasting contributions to the community.
Bill’s wanderlust led him to many adventures on the open road and the high seas, with a particular fondness for car travels and cruises. His journeys were not just about the destinations but the joy of the experience itself.
A celebration of Bill’s life will be held on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Chapel, 6245 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070, where family and friends will gather from 12-2:00 PM. A gathering will follow after his services.
Bill’s warm smile, generous spirit, and zest for life will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
