William Lappin's Obituary
William Lappin, age 74, passed away on September 9, 2023 after prolonged illness.
Born to Arthur and Josephine in Cleveland in 1949. He spent the first half of his career in Washington D.C working as a systems analyst for the IRS and the Library of Congress. Later on, he continued his career at NASA, which brought him closer to his family in Cleveland.
In his spare time, he was a long distance runner. He had a deep love for science and art, in particular astronomy, physics, and archeology. He was a world traveler as well.
Most of all, many will remember his quiet but warm presence and his dry sense of humor, but also his enthusiasm to share his love of science. His friends and family could always count on learning a new fact or receiving an interesting souvenir from his travels whenever they were together.
William is survived by his siblings, James (Sharon) Lappin and Christine (Tom Romane) Lappin. Nieces and Nephews, Christian (Lisa Marcotte-Gallagher) Lappin, Lisa (Joel) Flagner, Brianna (Minsung Chun) Romane, Tyler (Gabrielle) Lappin and Kate (Mason) Gross, Timothy Lappin (deceased), Donald Lappin (deceased) and grand nieces and nephews, Lillian, Elijah, Gabriel, and William.
Funeral services will be held privately. His final resting place will be in Sunset Memorial Park's Westwood Abbey Mausoleum, North Olmsted, Ohio.
