Wilma M. Ebner's Obituary
Wilma M. Ebner, age 94, of Brook Park, Ohio, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2026. Born on June 26, 1932, in Cleveland, Ohio, she was the beloved daughter of the late Otto and Mary Backeberg.
Wilma shared 61 wonderful years of marriage with her devoted husband, Norbert Ebner, who preceded her in death. Together they built a loving home centered on faith, family, and treasured traditions.
She is survived by her loving children, Daniel (Nora) Ebner and Sharon (Dan) Pawlus; six cherished grandchildren; five treasured great-grandchildren; and her niece, Karen (Keith Hadley) Karpac. Wilma's legacy lives on through the many lives she touched and the family she loved so dearly.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norbert Ebner; her children, Kenneth Ebner and Lisa Ponsford; her son-in-law, John Ponsford; her sister, Doris Karpac; and her nephew, James Karpac.
Wilma found great joy in preserving precious memories through photography. Rarely without a camera in hand, she lovingly documented life's milestones, celebrations, and everyday moments for family and friends. She enjoyed hosting picnics that brought loved ones together, creating lasting memories around good food and laughter. Wilma and Norbert also shared a love of square dancing and spent many happy hours dancing together. She was an active and dedicated member of the West Tech Alumni Association, where she enjoyed maintaining friendships and celebrating her school community.
Wilma will be remembered for her warm heart, welcoming spirit, and deep devotion to her family. Her kindness, generosity, and the countless photographs she captured will continue to serve as a lasting reminder of a life well lived and a woman deeply loved.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial contributions be made to The Welsh Home.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070. A funeral service will be held immediately following the visitation at 2:00 PM in the chapel.
