Yvonne Petrigac's Obituary
Yvonne (Boyd) Petrigac “Vonnie” age 93, passed away on March 24, 2026. She was born on November 15, 1932, in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of the late Jay M. and Helen E. (Spencer) Boyd.
Beloved wife and soul mate of the late, Edward Petrigac, they were high school sweethearts who were married for 64 years.
Loving mother of four children, Velinda Lilly-deceased, Mark Petrigac (Sally), Brenda Dokas (Gary, deceased), Vanessa Botson (Greg). She was preceded in death by an older sister and two brothers.
Proud Grandmother of 6 Grandchildren, Ryan Lilly (Laurie), Jason Lilly-deceased, Amber and Rick Kugler, Chad and Mitchel Botson. Great-Grandmother of 3, Mirielle Lilly, Levi and Luci Lilly.
Graduated from West Technical High School where she was President of the alumni association. She was elected the first Woman Mayor of North Olmsted, Ohio. She was named North Olmsted Republican Woman of the Year in 1986, was recognized by Cleveland Magazine as one of the 87 Most Interesting People In 1987. In 1992, she was selected as North Olmsted Citizen of the Year.
Over the years, Yvonne has served as President at all levels of North Olmsted PTA, the Community Council, the West Tech Alumni Association, Vice Chairman of the Recreation Commission.
In 1992, she was employed by the Ohio Lottery until her retirement in 1994. Volunteering was always a big part of her life, whether it be at Fairview Hospital Flower Shop, at election time, North Olmsted Homecoming or church activities.
She enjoyed traveling with her husband, and attending all her grandchildren’s activities throughout the years. Family and all of her special friends were always an important part of her life. She will be missed by many.
