Andrew Yankovich
October 23, 1935 - August 13, 2021
Andy was born October 23, 1935 to Basil and Mary Yankovich. He attended Lakewood High School, became a left-handed pitching phenom on the baseball team. After graduation he proudly served our country in the United States Air Force. He spent most of his time was deployed in Germany and France. Upon his return, he worked his entire career at Union Carbide. Andy enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas and playing golf with his uncles and friends. He was a dog lover and an avid bowler as well. He is survived by his uncle John Nester of Olmsted Township, his brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Carol Yankovich of Strongsville. His sisters and brothers in law, Delores and George Buchanan of Westlake and Paulette and Joe Saksa of Springfield; 7 nieces and nephews, 12 great nieces and nephews, and one great-great nephew. He is also survived by his best buddy and neighbor, Bill Grant, and his favorite niece, Tonia Epple, who both assisted him in his later years. He was preceded by his parents, his sister and brother-in-law Joanna and George Schwenkel, his nephew Jim Yankovich, and his niece Suzanne Saksa. A committal service will be held in Sunset Memorial Park located at 6265 Columbia Rd., North Olmsted 44070 on Monday, August 23, 2021 at 2pm. Those in attendance are asked to meet at the Sunset Chapel located at 6245 Columbia Rd., North Olmsted 44070 no later than 1:45pm.
