We’re here to give you care and comfort as we help guide you through the planning journey.
We've learned a lot about caring for families over the years. We realize that we aren't just caring for a loved one, but the entire family. People come to us during their most difficult times, and we respond with kindness, understanding and expertise. Our goal is to make everyone feel at home as we work with them to create a memorable service in honor of a beautiful life.
Sunset Funeral, Cremation Services & Cemetery provides complete care at one location to better serve our families in the North Olmsted community. By bringing together Sunset Memorial Park and Dostal Bokas Funeral Services, we're able to give our families additional support and comfort by having their loved ones remain in our care from the beginning.

Candice joined the exceptional staff of Sunset Memorial Park in February of 2013. She is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati and holds a bachelor degree from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. Candice has enjoyed her service and ministry in the funeral business for over 15 years as a funeral director, embalmer and certified funeral celebrant.
She and her husband, Will, reside in the Medina area with their four children Brett, Rhiannon, Chloe and Willow. Time spent together as a family is special and mostly spent outdoors at Chippewa Lake where they can be found walking, running, riding bikes, fishing, boating and sitting around a bonfire under the stars.
Location Chapel Manager
Veronica joined Sunset Funeral Services in January of 2021. She brought with her 12 years of experience as a licensed funeral director, embalmer, and certified funeral celebrant. Veronica is a graduate of Shawnee State University in Portsmouth, Ohio where she received her Bachelors of Art degree in Psychology. She continued her education at Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science (CCMS) and completed her Associates of Applied Mortuary Science. In 2008, she published a children’s book on suicide entitled “Mommy’s Sandcastle” which she wrote during her time at CCMS; her husband illustrated the book.
Veronica resides with her husband Jonny and two children in Hinckley, Ohio. She is the proud wife of a firefighter and has a special place in her heart for first responders and veterans. In her spare time, she enjoys swimming, reading, listening to podcasts, taking her beloved Goldendoodle Pyrat on walks, and when time allows - traveling with her family.
She has found great peace, compassion, and fulfillment in her service as a funeral director; she considers it a privilege to be able to provide a helping hand during a family's time of great sorrow and does her best to honor every legacy. Veronica looks forward to continue building upon the success of her fellow colleagues at Sunset and honoring the families in North Olmsted and surrounding communities. Every life is worth remembering, always.
We illuminate paths to peace with personalized ceremonies and memorial tributes that honor your loved one.
What Families Are Saying
Veronica and Candice were so patient with my Father at the time my Mother passed away. Although my family has many years in the funeral/cemetery business it is different when the person passing is your own loved one. They both took great care of my family and answered all of our questions with professionalism.Crystal Primrose 5 stars ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
Jackie and Torie made the arrangements very seamless, were very compassionate and so very patient. My family has used the cemetery services several times before, but I also chose to use the funeral services this time as well and I’m so glad I did! I’d do it again in a heartbeat. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!Crystal Yancy 5 stars ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
