John George Minnick

April 11, 1929 - April 25, 2022

John G. Minnick, 93, of Olmsted Township, Ohio passed away peacefully on April 25, 2022. Beloved husband of June T. (nee Jordan) (deceased); loving father of John (Karen), Randy (Joyce), Mark (Alice), Jeff (Cris), Melinda (Dan) Zavagno, and Scott (Mary Beth); dearest grandfather of 18; great-grandfather of 30; great-great grandfather of 3; and cherished brother of Anna (John) Chorba (deceased). John was born on April 11, 1929 to the late John and Anna (nee Spitko) Minnick. John was a graduate of Cleveland West High School and attended Fenn College. He was an accomplished athlete for both schools excelling in distance running and basketball. He proudly mentored his children through their youth basketball, football, and track years. John was a successful agent with Allstate Insurance Company for 44 years. He loved singing in church choirs and with his family. John was blessed to have resided in Cleveland, OH, Rocky River, OH, Catawba Island, OH, Pine Island, FL and eventually Olmsted Twp., OH. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 from 4-8 PM at Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070. Funeral services will be on Thursday, May 5, 2022 at 11 AM at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2031 W. 30th Street Cleveland, OH 44113.
