Betty Jean Fly's Obituary
Betty Jean Fly, 80, of Cleveland, passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2020. Born in Kentucky to the late Arthur and Maudie Stephens on June 10, 1940. Besides her parents, Betty is preceded in death by seven siblings. Betty is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Donald Lee Fly also of Cleveland; two adoring daughters Debra (Alan) Zaleski and Melissa (Paul) Flores; cherished grandchildren Alison (Jason) Racine, Matthew Zaleski, Timothy (Eileen) Poneleit, Anthony Long, and Angela Long; precious great-grandchildren Otto Racine, Ivy Rose Poneleit, and one more on the way.; and many nieces, nephews, and other family.
Betty loved to travel and would often spend half the year in Florida with Don during the winter months. She was an incredible seamstress and had even dabbled in embroidery. If there was ever a need or a want, she could sew it beautifully. Betty loved being a grandmother and was always a strong female figure in her family’s life. She made sure that each and every moment was full of laughter and smiles from the moment it started. Betty is loved by so many and will be dearly missed.
A visitation will be held for Betty on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 from 4pm until 8pm at the Sunset Chapel located 6245 Columbia Rd., North Olmsted 44070. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at the Sunset Chapel and will begin promptly at 2pm. Burial will follow immediately after at Sunset Memorial Park.
