My husband was a gem of a man—my pillar of strength whom I always leaned on. Since February 12, 1992, he became not only my sincere lover, guide, and friend but also a father figure in my life. When our son was born on March 17, 1993, his love, which had been almost entirely mine, was shared with our son, whom he cherished as a priceless gift from God.
We truly treasured the 32 golden years we spent with him. I hope he and God have forgiven all my shortcomings and moments of impatience. He was always patient, always joyful, and an angel sent to me. When he chose me, he must have remembered the verse:
“Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised” (Proverbs 31:30).
I was told that each verse in Proverbs corresponds to a person’s birthdate, and since my birthday is on the 30th, this verse feels meant for me.
He worked tirelessly for us until his very last moment. His love for us was unconditional, and he embodied all the divine qualities—the very essence of the Fruits of the Spirit mentioned in Philippians. My son and I should strive to follow his example and uphold his legacy.
We know he was a man of faith because whatever he asked of God was granted, especially when it came to our well-being. One of his constant and fervent prayer was that our son should become a doctor and he was very happy to know that. The next cherished moment he had was my son’s Wedding and he thanked God for a beautiful and virtuous wife he got. He used to call her by name ‘Tesla’ for ‘Staci’ because she wanted to buy a Tesla first so he presented them a Tesla as their Wedding gift. He was our prayer warrior. I thank and praise God for blessing me with such a wonderful husband and father for my son.
May God hold him in His embrace forever. I have faith that one day, I will see him again—when we are taken up by our Lord Jesus Christ in the air.
