Charlie A. Bentley's Obituary
Charlie A. Bentley, age 84, of North Ridgeville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2025. Born on December 19, 1941, he was the son of the late Gordon and Ethel Bentley.
Charlie is survived by his devoted wife of 60 years, Sherry M. Bentley; his children, Michelle Bentley and Kevin Bentley; his sister, Stella Duby; and many beloved nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings Gordon Bentley Jr., Oscar Bentley, Phyllis Wade, and Sarah Green.
Charlie graduated from the University of Vermont with a bachelor’s degree before proudly serving in the United States Army. Following his service, he built a long and dedicated career with First Choice Packing and Eveready Battery.
A man with a zest for life, Charlie filled his days with the activities he loved most. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, yoga, bicycling, and cheering on the Cleveland Indians. He was equally happy watching a round of golf on TV as he was spending time outdoors.
Above all, Charlie cherished time with his family and friends. He looked forward to breakfast and lunch outings with his close friends, traveling with Sherry and their dear companions John and Carolena, playing cards and games with family, and camping together. He also treasured the many evenings he and Sherry spent square dancing together, a pastime that brought them joy. His warmth, humor, and easygoing nature made him a joy to be around, and he created countless memories with those he loved.
Charlie will be remembered for his kindness, his steady presence, and the genuine care he showed to everyone in his life. His legacy lives on in the family and friends who will forever hold him in their hearts.
