To a wonderful person, That was always sweet and kind to me. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
This is a picture of Deb and me when were little. I miss my big sister. Love, Carol
In June of 1969 our close high school friends Deb and Tom attended our exceptionally modest wedding in Monroe, Michigan. We had virtually no funds for anything 'extra' at that time, including for any kind of reception; so following our ceremony we just returned to our very tiny apartment in Lakewood, Ohio. Soon after we arrived 'home' we realized that we hadn't any food in our hovel, and we contemplated on visiting McDonald's for our wedding meal. That was until Deb and Tom arrived at our door to celebrate our nuptuals with their delivery of a Bucket of Kentucky-fried chicken (with all of the '"fixin's") and some sodas for all of us to share. They quite accurately surmised that we were essentially flat broke, and it was hugely apparent they had absolutely no intention of letting our special day be diminished by an absence of a worthy celebratory repast. And what a magnificent feast it truly was! I cannot express how wonderful their unexpected kindness and warm generosity meant to us; then, and still means to us today. Their totally unexpected wedding gift was in retrospect, really one of abiding friendship and affection; when we really needed some. It truly came from their hearts, and was received deeply into ours. Their act of caring propagated a close kinship that has spanned many miles, and has continued to serve as an unbroken bond between us for over 55 years. I am certain that this fabulous memory shall remain vivid in our minds, until we again join someday in the future with Deb in our next shared feast; but this time with our Lord. Deb was a remarkably beautiful person and dearly beloved friend, making our lives happier from our first meeting in her youth, and throughout her life. We and the World are sadly diminished by her absence; but shall remain forever enriched with her memory. With Love, Roy
