Dennis M. McElroy's Obituary
Dennis M. McElroy, 67, of North Olmsted, passed away June 19, 2017 following a courageous battle with ALS for seven years.
He was born in Cleveland, the son of Christine (Harold, deceased) Belardo Shaw and the late Theodore McElroy. Dennis was the beloved husband of 12 years to Susan (nee Forlini); loving father of Theodore and step-father of Melissa Campana (Justin Michalovic) and Jason (Julie) Campana; cherished grandfather of Alexandrea and Allison; dear brother of Christine “Terry” Severo (Don, deceased), Theodore McElroy Jr. (deceased), Gil McElroy and Jeff McElroy (Gail Gierman); loving uncle and friend of many. Dennis is a US Army veteran, serving during the Korean DMZ Conflict, which is also known as the Second Korean War. He was honorably discharged in 1971 following two years of active duty. He was a transport driver for Pitt Ohio and retired from West Park Health Care as a Maintenance Supervisor. His hobbies included fishing with his brothers, vintage cars and a love for music, where his talent could be appreciated through his saxophone, keyboard and guitar playing.
The family will receive friends on Friday, June 23, 2017 from 2PM-6PM in the Chapel at Sunset Memorial Park, 6245 Columbia Rd, North Olmsted, where funeral services will commence on Friday at 6PM. dostalbokas.com
