DEE, Dodie, and I first meant when we were employees at Ohio Bell Telephone Company. ( that was a lifetime ago. ) As young adults we each followed in the footsteps of our parents-work hard-build your career and you will be happy for life.Each one of us went on to achieve those personal goals. And each one of us at different times came to realize something else was missing. For reasons that God only knows each one of us began to search for more -we began to search spirituality for something that was missing. At times the three of us search together-at times we search apart- finally we all met at the Cross Roads and found together our Lord as our Saviour and Redeemer. Since that time for years now we have shared together and forever a bond as Sisters in Christ-a bond that was felt not seen. We never let the miles apart be an obstacle to our friendship-because our friendship was measured by our hearts. Heaven has gained a beautiful side. May Dodie, her friends and I find comfort knowing our Dee is resting peacefully in the arms of her Lord. Love you Dee. Ce Ann

in honor of Diana.

So many memories since Wilber Wright High School, walking in the halls of West Tech and laughing as Dee so often did. The intramural sports connected us as well since we were a year apart. And then came all our softball teams in our twenties and beyond. Dee drinking a beer with the rest of us after games. We did play for various teams, maybe starting at Ten Pin Tap, but ended with Our Gang. I don't think there was a better third basemen in the league, especially with that wicked sidearm. Coming off the field, she'd say hey Mar ... we got 'em and I'd tell her no... YOU did. And there went that wild hearty laugh.

I wish we could have gotten together more often than we did over the years, but so thankful God put her in my life. I can still hear her saying, "Well whata gonna do Mar?" I sure am going to miss her. Such a struggle she had to go through, but she's in a better place for sure. May God watch over Dodie and give her strength in the days ahead.

People come into our lives at different times and for various reasons. Some merely dip their toes in, becoming casual acquaintances, while others stay for a season, turning into friends. Then there are those rare individuals who linger and truly enrich our lives with cherished memories. Dee was one of those remarkable people.

Choosing a favorite memory from the countless ones we shared is difficult. From the moment we met, there was an instant connection; we both had a cynical sense of humor and took pride in our independence. We were always laughing, whether we were playing golf, working on projects at her home, volunteering to build houses for Habitat for Humanity and the Alzheimer’s Association, or vacationing on a beach somewhere. She also became part of my family, with the kids calling her Auntie Dee, even though she once threw my niece across the yard in an attempt to win at football. We never let her live that one down.

Often, we would just relax on the back deck with a pizza and a six-pack, solving life’s puzzles or discussing our shared love for the Lord. I feel incredibly blessed to have experienced Diana’s friendship and love. May God’s grace bring Dodie and all who knew and loved Dee peace, along with the knowledge that Jesus has her now. Until we meet again, my friend.
