Edward Andrew Kish's Obituary
Edward Andrew Kish, age 79, of Brook Park, Ohio, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2025. Born on October 31, 1945, to the late William and Evelyn “Sally” Kish, Edward lived a life marked by service, dedication, and deep love for his family and community.
A proud veteran of the Vietnam War, Edward served honorably in the United States Navy. Following his military service, he continued his commitment to public service with a distinguished 22-year career with the Cleveland Police Department. He began walking a beat, scooter/motorcycle patrol unit, moved to vice, and retired from the patrol unit. His integrity and courage left a lasting impression on his colleagues and the community he served.
Edward is survived by his beloved wife, partner, and friend, Connie Kish. Together, they shared 28 years of love, friendship, passion, and partnership. Through love and hardship, their love never wavered. He was a devoted father to Mark (Traci) Kish, Nicole Kish (mother to both: Patti), Cary (mother: Dana) Manning, Mike (Shannon) Ross, Chris Ross, and Sarah (Megan) Ross. He was a proud grandfather to Megan Kish, Emily Kish, Adam Kish, and Evan Ross.
He is also survived by his cherished siblings, Margaret “Billie” Lamanna and Bill (Jane) Kish; and his dear niece, Kim Kondas. Edward’s life was enriched by the life-long friendships of the late Bobby Rose, Joni Rose, Louise Fiszer, and the Class of ‘63 Garfield Heights High friends. He held a special bond with his police department partners, the late Kenny Kirschner and Ronny Bero, and all his brothers in blue, whose camaraderie and loyalty meant the world to him.
Edward found great joy in travelling, especially on cruises. He also loved playing cards, board games, golfing, campfires, and dancing. He had a great passion for baseball and played on minor league Police/community baseball teams throughout his life.
Edward will be remembered for his unforgettable, unique, one-of-a-kind character, unwavering sense of duty, his sharp wit, and his deep love for his family and friends. His legacy of service and strength will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Edward’s family would like to give a special thank you to Hospice of the Western Reserve for the amazing team of nurses, chaplain, and social worker that cared for Edward and his family.
Memorial Visitation will be held at Sunset Memorial Chapel, 6245 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070 on Monday, July 28, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. with Memorial Service to start at 12:00 p.m. Edward will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park, North Olmsted, Ohio.
