Dad I know you already read this in the card I gave you before you passed, but I wanted to share it here as well.
Dad,
I don’t even know where to begin, because there aren’t enough words in the world to explain what you mean to me.
You have always been the most thoughtful, caring, and selfless person I’ve ever known. You spent your whole life putting everyone else before yourself, without ever asking for anything in return. That’s just who you are. You love so deeply, and you give so freely, and I have been so lucky to call you my dad.
Every time I needed you, you were there. No questions, no hesitation. You showed me what it means to be strong, what it means to be kind, and what it means to truly care about others. So much of who I am is because of you.
I want you to know that all those little things you did—the advice, the hugs, the way you always made sure I was okay—they meant everything. They still do. You built a love in me that will never fade, no matter what happens.
It’s so hard to imagine this world without you in it, but I promise you this: I will carry you with me in everything I do. In the way I love people. In the way I show up for others.
Thank you for being my safe place. My biggest supporter. My example of what a good, beautiful heart looks like.
I love you more than I could ever say. Always have. Always will.
I love you dad and miss you more than you could ever imagine!
