Haydee F. Hernandez's Obituary
Haydee F. Hernandez (nee Figueroa Rivera), 93, of North Ridgeville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2025.
Born in Luquillo, Puerto Rico, Haydee was the cherished daughter of the late Anselmo Figueroa Romero and Eulogia Rivera Roberto.
She was the beloved wife of the late Miguel A. Hernandez; the loving mother of the late Maria Dyson, Carmen (Alan) Grondin, the late Miguel A. Hernandez Jr., Wilfredo Hernandez (Cynthia) and Cynthia Hernandez; the cherished grandmother of Rick Dyson (Jennifer), Luke Hernandez, Matthew Hernandez, Rob Janik (Denise), Tara Klefsaas (Chris), Jeremy Janik, and Maria Sharp; the great grandmother of Zachary Dyson, Ashlyn Dyson, Cameron Dyson, Alyvia Hernandez, Luke Hernandez, Holden Janik, Aria Janik, Jonas Janik, Noah Klefsaas, Asher Klefsaas, Canaan Klefsaas, Benaiah Klefsaas, Scarlett Klefsaas, and Harbor Klefsaas; the dear sister of the late Amparo, Eulalia, Cayo, and Jorge; and adored friend and relative of many in Puerto Rico and the Cleveland area.
Haydee married Miguel on January 12, 1952, in Puerto Rico and moved to Cleveland, Ohio to start their life together, eventually raising five children. She enjoyed her daily devotions, entertaining friends and family at home, and playing a good game of Rummy 500 or Dominoes. She became a staunch fan of the Cleveland Indians in the 1950’s and never wavered her support. Later in life, the Cleveland Cavaliers also earned her support. She returned to school in her 40’s obtaining a bachelor’s degree in education. She taught and counseled in the Cleveland school system before returning to Puerto Rico in 1986 where she continued her teaching career. She was a founding member of San Juan Bautista Parish in Cleveland and was highly active in church activities. She was a current member of Parroquia La Sagrada Familia.

The Memorial Service will be held on Friday, August 15, 2025, at 12:00pm in the Chapel at Sunset Memorial Park, 6245 Columbia Rd., North Olmsted, Ohio 44070. Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
