Jason P. Ramos' Obituary
Jason P. Ramos, 36, of Dalton, GA and Brunswick, OH, passed away June 25, 2015.
Beloved son of Evelio “Bill” and Patricia (nee Bauer); dear brother of Justin and Joshua; cherished grandson of Charlotte and the late Edward Bauer and the late Chrispulo and Maria Ramos; loving nephew, cousin, and friend to many.
He received his bachelor’s and associate degrees in hotel management from Johnson & Wales University in Charlotte, NC, and his master’s degree in higher education and student affairs from the University of South Carolina. Prior to joining the staff at Dalton State he served in various capacities in student services at institutions including Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, IA, University of South Carolina, Radford University, and Johnson & Wales.
He was the Assistant Director of Residential Life at Dalton State. While there, Jason recognized the need to start a Student Food Bank. With Dalton State’s mascot being the Roadrunner, they named it the Birdfeeder. Jason was dedicated to this project. He was passionate about making sure the foodbank was stocked to help students. Our goal is to keep the foodbank stocked until the need for it no longer exists at Dalton State.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 3, 2015 at 1PM at St. Ambrose Church, 929 Pearl Rd., Brunswick 44212, where the family will receive friends on Friday from 11 AM until the time of Mass. A time of reflection with the family will follow at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Dalton State College, Birdfeeder Food Bank, 650 College Drive, Attn: Fiscal Affairs – Jason’s memory, Dalton, GA 30720. Dostalbokas.com
