JoAnn Agnes Cali's Obituary
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of JoAnn Agnes Cali (née Raitz), who departed this world on February 23, 2025, at the age of 69. Born on December 11, 1955, in Tiffin, Ohio, JoAnn was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, educator, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
JoAnn was the cherished daughter of Robert and Dolores (Lotycz) Raitz. She grew up in a large and loving family alongside her siblings: Ronald (Doris), Raymond (Nola), Kenneth (Bonnie), Theresa (Robert) Mowery, Ruthie (Don) Hill, Jim, and Patty (Ed) Smith. She was preceded in death by her sister, Rose Mary.
JoAnn was the loving and devoted wife of Frank Vincent Cali, with whom she shared a beautiful life and deep love for many years.
Family was JoAnn’s greatest joy. She was a devoted and loving mother to Domenic, Matthew (Shannon), and Frank, and a proud, adoring grandmother to Carson and Cora. Her children and grandchildren were the light of her life, and she cherished every moment she spent with them.
For 41 years, JoAnn dedicated herself to teaching, shaping the minds and hearts of countless students. Her love for children and education was immeasurable, and she worked tirelessly to inspire curiosity, kindness, and a lifelong passion for learning. Beyond the classroom, she was a mentor, role model, and unwavering advocate for knowledge and growth.
JoAnn’s kind heart and generous spirit touched everyone she met. She was selfless, always putting others before herself, and had a way of making people feel truly valued and cared for. Whether through her words of encouragement, her warm presence, or her endless compassion, she left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
