John "Bernie" Bernard Toorish's Obituary
John “Bernie” Toorish, age 94, of North Olmsted, Ohio, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2025. Born on March 2, 1931, in Concord, Ontario, Canada, Bernie was the beloved son of the late John M. and Claire Toorish.
From the time he was five years old, Bernie’s life was shaped by his passion for music. That love carried him through a remarkable career as a member of the musical group The Four Lads, with whom he traveled the world, bringing joy and entertainment to countless audiences. Among his proudest moments were performances for troops overseas, where his music offered comfort and connection during difficult times.
Bernie’s life changed forever when he met Angela at one of his performances. It was love at first sight, and on December 1, 1956, they began a journey together that spanned nearly seven decades. Just days before his passing, Bernie and Angela celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary—a testament to their enduring love and devotion.
He is survived by his cherished wife, Angela Toorish, his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Bernie was preceded in death by his sisters, Noreen and Catherine, and his parents, John M. and Claire Toorish, who now welcome him home.
Bernie’s life was a melody—filled with harmony, rhythm, and joy. His music touched hearts across the world, but it was his kindness, humor, and unwavering love for his family that will be remembered most.
