Joseph (Joe) R. Haluscsak's Obituary
Joseph (Joe) R. Haluscsak, age 81, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at his home in Olmsted Twp., OH. Joe was born in Cleveland, OH to the late Joseph and Emily (Devaty) Haluscsak on September 17, 1943. He married Donna (Kobe) Haluscsak on October 12,1968.
He graduated from St. Edward High School and John Carroll University. Joe began his professional journey in education, teaching at Harry E. Davis Jr. High. After his time in the classroom, he began a career with the Federal Bureau of Investigation in 1969. Upon retiring from the FBI in 1994 he returned to his roots in education, working as a substitute teacher in Olmsted Falls.
Joe had a deep love of the outdoors and the simple pleasures in life— working in the yard and tending to his garden. Joe was never one to sit still and found true joy in staying busy and lending a helping hand. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and extended family during fishing and golf outings and getting together with “family-family” at frequent gatherings and vacations. His ability for making people laugh will be dearly missed.
Joe is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Donna; his daughters, Kimberly (Eric) Wise of Enon, OH, Tracy Maher of North Ridgeville, OH and Mandy (Nick) Grimaldi of Cleveland, OH, and grandchildren Calvin and Josie Wise, Randi and Kobi Hood and great-grandchild, Dawson.
He is also survived by his sisters Judy (Jim) Flannery of Westlake, OH, Rita (Ed) Goebel of Erie, PA, Emily (Jim) Sullivan of Willoughby Hills, and Peggy (Jim) Domzalski of Berea, OH as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by sister Mary Lou (Chuck) Fisher of Milan, OH.
A service to honor Joe will be held June 24, at 12:00 pm. Those who wish to offer their condolences to the family may do so beginning at 11:30 am at the Westwood Abbey Mausoleum, 6265 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, 44070 with a reception to follow on the lower level of Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, 44070.
