I graduated in 1986. I never had her for English, but I had her for study hall. She was always so funny and kind. Years later, our boys would play baseball together with my husband coaching. With that, I had an opportunity to get to know her on a personal level, instead of just as student and teacher. She was a wonderful person. Our community is darker with her passing. My deepest condolences to her family.

Jim Emigh’s eloquent description of our friend and colleague coupled with the accolades from her former students vividly demonstrate Leslie’s positive impact on the lives of her students and the people with whom she worked. However, perhaps one of the best testaments to Leslie’s life are her “boys” ... exceptionally fine young men of whom she was so justifiably proud. Level-headed, well grounded, and personable they exemplified what being a Bulldog and a good person was all about. They testify to the type of teacher, person, and mother that raised them. Leslie’s legacy will live on through them and their children, and her memory will forever reside in the hearts of those of us who were fortunate enough to have known her as a colleague and friend.
