Leslie E. Sedlay's Obituary
Leslie E. Sedlay, 70, of Olmsted Township, Ohio, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2026. Born on September 23, 1955, in Ontario, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Hugh and Doreen Crichton.
Leslie was the beloved mother of Anderson Sedlay, Alexander (Alexis) Sedlay, and Addison Sedlay, and the cherished grandmother of Sophia, Poppy, and her adored grandpup, Winston. She is also survived by her cousin Joanne (Les), her sister‑in‑law Sue (Craig – deceased), and her nieces and nephews Andrea (Jake), Thomas, and Benjamin.
A gifted and deeply respected English teacher, Leslie dedicated more than 30 years to the Olmsted Falls School District. Her passion for literature and her love of reading shaped her life and her teaching, inspiring generations of students to discover the power of stories. One of the great honors of her academic journey was studying abroad at Oxford University, an experience she carried with her and shared often with joy and pride.
Leslie’s warmth extended far beyond the classroom. She was known for her love of baking—especially her famous oatmeal raisin cookies—and for her eagerness to try any new recipe she could get her hands on. Her kitchen was a place of comfort, laughter, and the kind of sweetness that lingers long after the last bite.
Leslie will be remembered for her kindness, her curiosity, her generosity of spirit, and the unwavering love she held for her family, friends, students, and community.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Olmsted Falls Scholarship Foundation, supporting the next generation of learners in the district she served so faithfully: https://sites.google.com/a/ofcs.net/hs-guidance/local-scholarship-program
