Lon was a larger-than-life character. He was an animated man while maintaining a steadfast manner. He had a great, sharp sense of humor, could cause one to cry laughing. His golf swing was as smooth as Sam Sneads. In work, he was an old school, consummate professional. He was a straight shooter. He was a man of integrity. He understood duty, he understood discipline. He brought fun and wealth for those he worked around. Lon is a tremendous loss to the industry he worked to build and serve. My deepest sympathies to his family, friends, and co-workers.
