I worked a few years with Luigi as a bus driver at the Cleveland Airport. He was a lot of fun. As the senior (lead) driver, he would be the shift supervisor, and would always greet you with a "welcome aboard" when you would do a radio check at the start of a shift. Oh how I miss hearing that. I am sure St. Peter was standing at the golden gates a couple of days ago, tapped Luigi on the shoulder and gave him that very same greeting. I can only hope that I live however many days I have left on this earth the right way, and that I get my invitation to Heaven's door, and I can once again hear Luigi say…. "Welcome aboard".Scott Meredith
I will always remember Luigi…Luigi was always a kind, generous and loving man. When my dear friend's Mom passed, I asked Luigi to write something in Italian, from me, to her family. I thought it would be a more personal message. Luigi spent a few days writing it and they were deeply touched when they read what he had written. Luigi was always there when we worked together to help any way that he could. He always had kind words to say about everyone…even when they did not deserve it. Luigi was a special kind of man that people seldom have the pleasure to meet, let alone call friend…I am thankful I was one of the lucky ones when I became Luigi's friend. I will miss the man but I will miss my friend more…
