Michael Pirrgo Schmitt, age 67, passed away on August 5, 2024. A dedicated husband, father, and grandfather, Michael was born on May 11, 1957, and spent the majority of his life in the communities he built and cherished.
Michael’s life was defined by his unwavering commitment to his family and his tireless work ethic. He was the proud owner and operator of Bob Schmitt Homes, a multi-generational family business that he nurtured and expanded over the years. His leadership and dedication ensured the business thrived, becoming a cornerstone of the community.
Michael is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Kim Schmitt (nee Kasper), his two children, Lindsey Wall (Sean), Parker (Mandi), and his eight adored grandchildren: Reed, Georgia, Teddy, Gus, Walker, Ozzy, Camille, and Ruby. Beloved son of Audrey Schmitt Carto and the late Edward Schmitt, brother of Eric (Patricia deceased), Valerie Adkins (Brian deceased), and Corbin (Amy). He was a pillar of strength and a source of endless kindness and love for his family and his two dogs, Sam and Bob, always placing them at the center of his life.
Michael’s legacy is one of love, dedication, and hard work. He will be remembered for his generous spirit, his integrity, and his unwavering devotion to those he held dear. His passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew him, but his memory will live on through the values he instilled and the lives he touched.
Visitation will be held at Sunset Memorial Chapel, 6245 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070 on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., followed by services at 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Berea Animal Rescue Friends, a cause close to Michael’s heart.
