Patricia J. Harf's Obituary
Patricia Jean Harf (nee Kole), affectionately known as Dr. Harf, 83, of Strongsville passed away on November 3, 2020. Pat was born on October 14, 1937, in Berea, Ohio, to Paul Frederic and Mena (Labordes) Kole. She married Fredric Harf on June 21, 1969. Pat loved her hometown of Berea and dedicated much of her time to civic improvements and activities. She was active in many organizations over her lifetime, including the Berea Grindstone Festival, the Berea Chamber of Commerce, the Berea Historical Society and Berea Kiwanis. She was also a life-long member of The United Methodist Church of Berea. Pat earned her Bachelor of Science in Education from Baldwin-Wallace College, and a Master of Science in Education from the University of Akron. She taught elementary school in Parma, Ohio, 1969-1973, where she made many life-long friends. She also was a staff writer for the Chronicle Telegram in the 1980s. A lover of animals, Pat adopted and doted on many furry friends over her lifetime. She also enjoyed crafting and floral arrangement and was an avid reader. She is preceded in death by her husband Fred Harf. She is survived by her brother Bruce Kole (Katherine), niece Diana White (Andrew) and great-nephew Jack.
