To the family , I knew Robert for over 50 years and worked in the Gospel together in a few series and have appreciared his friendship as a fellow worker and know he is absent from the Body and at home with the Lord and soon we shall meet in the Glory. Hello to Wilda.
Sending warm sympathy to the family and the many saints that loved and respected Bro. Surgenor over these many years of service to the Lord's people and his love for souls. The assemblies have missed and will miss his visits.
He and Wm Warke came to our farm in SW WI in the summer of 1960, his first visit, to preach in a tent when he took time off from his work in the steel mill. During the years to the early 2000's he stayed in our home when he visited here until the passing of my parents. Dad called him Bobby!. We always appreciated his commitment for the truths of Holy Scripture and his love for seeking souls. He had a unique way with people engaging them in conversation regarding God's salvation. He will be truly missed and had a LONG life to serve the Lord. May others be enabled to follow in his foot steps. We will also miss his correspondence done so well. Did very well in writing so many tracts and scripture booklets. He lived a busy life.
Warmly,
Charleen
A great gospel preacher who also had a great sense of humor. He would often share the bargain he had gotten at some thrift store. Our family loved him.

Mr. Surgenor was a dear Brother. In 1991/92 we enjoyed having him here in Newfoundland ...once for a series of Gospel meetings. Since then we have kept in touch. He was truely a Brother Beloved. We looked forward to his letters (and we kept them all) which always had a copy of booklets or tracts that he had written. He had such a gift in the Gospel and Ministry and was much appreciated. Words can't express the impact he had on our lives and now he is with the One whom he adored.
Hours of study, miles of travel, thousands of tracts printed and distributed. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven.
