the most Godly Christian man I have ever known. He not only talked the talk but walked the walk also. What a great example he was for my children(his grandchildren) throughout there life of growing up. Life won't be the same dad but knowing you are in heaven with Mom, your parents and siblings and a lot of your friends including Rick., Louie Green, and I am sure many more railroaders.....I feel at peace. I will love you always.
As a child, I would memorize Bible verses and grandpa would quiz me every week. He would always get so excited when I had them memorized! His excitement and the way he boosted about me kept my determination to memorize even more! Grandpa made me feel like the smartest girl in the world! I would hear him tell people how smart his granddaughter Crystal was and how I memorize Bible verses with no effort! I looked forward to that every week! He used to tell me, "Crystal, you can do anything you put your mind too, you are a sharp girl!"
I feel very fortunate that I had such fond memories of him growing up.
I always looked at grandpa as an intelligent, funny, happy man!!!
I remember when I would catch grandpa in the kitchen sneaking a snack, he would look at me and smile and say "don't tell grandma!" and just smile at me. I felt like I was special keeping those innocent secrets with him! Funny part is, grandma always actually knew what he was up too!
I loved getting McDonald's with him! And best believe I was guaranteed a bowl of ice cream before bed when I stayed the night because grandpa used me as the excuse to get him a bowl! Lol lol lol
He is truly missed and I am so lucky to grow up with him as my grandpa!
