Libbe Heidt-Farmer
I would like to share my memories of a great man my Father Wayne Heidt…Dad met my mom a widow with 4 young boys back in 1958.He married her and took on the responsibility of raising these 4 boys as his own…Then in 1960 they had me…My mom used to call our family H&H inc. (Heidt and Hadlock)Their youngest son( my brother Dave was diagnosed with Autism) Back then in the 60's not so much was known about Autism…At first they were told to put Davey in a institution which they did…shortly after they received a phone call that Dave had been attacked by one of the residents. It was awful I remember my mom telling me he was raw hamburger…My Dad marched in and took Davey out with the hospital staff running after him saying" you can't do this " and my fathers reply "watch me!"after that both my mom and dad became very involved in the National Society for Autistic children….My father was the Vice President of the National Society back in the 70's…..They poured their heart and soul into trying to get people to understand Autism…We had a great time growing up!!Lots of fun memories of being the youngest of 4 boys! Sadly this past 7 months have not been kind to my family….I have lost my brother Ron back in November and sadly in March I lost my oldest brother Jim Hadlock (my hero) Even after Mom had passed Dad continued to make sure Dave was taken care of..Then he met and married a great lady! Her name Esther Bartle….What a angel,I'm so glad she came into his life! There are no words to express my gratitude for loving my dad and taking such good care of him….I will be forever grateful! So R.I.P. H&H inc. Wayne&Betty Heidt,JimHadlock,Ron Hadlock, Bob Hadlock,Dave Hadlock I will always love you❤️
