Wayne E. Heidt's Obituary
Wayne E. Heidt, 87, passed away on June 9, 2017 at Parkside Community in Sandusky, OH, after a long battle with Parkinson’s.
He was born on July 9, 1929 in Ravenna, OH to the late Earl and Janet Heidt. Devoted husband for 25 years of Esther Bartle; beloved father of Libbe (Mark) Farmer; loving step-father of William (Erin) Bartle, Charlene (Curt) Bartle Lohrey and Dale (Phil) Bartle Riordan; caring brother of Doris Buck; cherished grandfather and great grandfather.
Wayne served in the Air Force from 1948-1952 and retired from a career as an Air Traffic Controller in 1975. Prior to his illness he enjoyed bowling, dancing, and trips to Las Vegas and local casinos to try his luck, which was usually very good. Wayne was a kind and generous man, quiet by nature but not afraid to speak his mind when necessary. He was a good judge of character with a dry sense of humor, that surprised us all, despite the challenges of living with Parkinson’s.
A private service for the family will be held, per his wishes. Burial will take place at Sunset Memorial Park, North Olmsted.
Memorial contributions in Wayne’s name are suggested to the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, New York, NY 10018.
